Question 1

What is a free resume scorer?

Accepted Answer

A free resume scorer is an AI tool that evaluates a candidate's resume against a specific job description. It checks skills match, experience fit, and domain alignment, returning a numerical score with evidence from the resume.

Question 2

How does the resume score checker work?

Accepted Answer

Upload a job description PDF, then upload a resume PDF. The AI parses both documents, compares required skills to candidate skills, evaluates experience alignment, and returns a score out of 10 with per-dimension breakdowns and evidence bullets.

Question 3

Is this ATS resume checker really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, completely free. You verify your work email with a one-time code - no password and no Zavnia account - and you can score up to 10 resumes against one job description per session.

Question 4

Do I need a Zavnia account to use the free resume scorer?

Accepted Answer

No. The free resume scorer uses a separate session from the main Zavnia platform. You verify a work email with a 6-digit code - no Zavnia account and no password.

Question 5

How many resumes can I score for free?

Accepted Answer

You can score up to 10 resumes per verified work email session. Each score is against the same uploaded job description. If you submit the same resume and JD combo twice, it returns a cached result.

Question 6

What file formats does the resume checker support?

Accepted Answer

Both the job description and resume must be uploaded as PDF files. The AI extracts text, skills, experience, and other structured data from the PDF content.

Question 7

What scoring dimensions are evaluated?

Accepted Answer

Scoring dimensions vary by role type but typically include skills match, experience fit, domain alignment, and overall quality. Each dimension returns a score out of 10 plus evidence bullets extracted from the resume.

Question 8

Can I use this to check my own resume before applying?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Upload the job description for the role you want, then upload your resume. You will see exactly how well your resume matches the requirements, which skills are detected, and where gaps exist.
